I'm a great fan of one click DVD conversions. DVD to AVI is one of these. DVD to AVI is incredibly easy to use and master. There are almost few options but your best bet is to pop your chosen DVD in your drive and click convert. Easy as that. The process takes 1-3 hours depending on the speed of your PC and the converted AVI is ready! The file size was excellent [roughly 700mb's for a full movie] and the picture quality was first-rate for a downsized copy. DVD to AVI is the perfect AVI creation tool.
